Hi! I’m Taylor Whiteman. Just over three years ago, I bought two hermit crabs from the boardwalk. At the start, I had no clue what I was doing. Over time, however, I learned how to care for my hermit crabs. I’m no expert, but I love to learn and share what I know. I created Hermitcrabowner.com to share what I’ve learned to help new owners care for their hermit crabs.
Meet My Hermit Crabs
Let me introduce you to my hermit crabs. These little guys are the reason why I started this website.
Here’s an image of all my crabs who are rather confused as to why they’re in a bowl and not in their tank. I took this picture while I was cleaning their environment and putting in new, clean substrate. It’s rare that not one of the four crabs were molting, so I had to take advantage of that and clean their tank.
My oldest crab is Dazzle, the crab on the bottom. I bought her on the boardwalk when I knew almost nothing about hermit crabs. I later bought Melissa and Hunter. The smaller crab to the left of Dazzle is Melissa and the one on the right is Hunter. The crab at the top was my brother’s crab who has no name. He bought the crab and got bored of him, so he’s now a welcome member of the family.
Here are a bunch of photos I’ve snapped of my crabs. They each have their own fun personalities.
